I bought this dress about a year or so ago on a trip up to LA with my good friend Ashlee.  We casually browsed several vintage shops on Melrose, and finally came to one called Slow, which I quickly recognized from the movie “A Mighty Wind.”  As soon as I saw the store front, I knew I was going to find something in there that I loved…and I did!  This dress is one of my favorites in my collection, it is comfy, light, and perfect for our Southern California weather.

What gorgeous hot weather we have been having here in Southern California!  Today I spent the day over at my Grandma’s. We had a simple lunch drank a lot of tea, and talked about cooking.  I love my grandma!

This is the most perfect hot weather dress.  It is comfortable, and not clingy at all.  It is really easy to dress up for an evening look as well….

This was last night’s outfit. Russ and I went to a funky little dive bar downtown called the Rosary Room where two of our closest friends DJ. This was my first time going here, though I had been to the restaurant attached in past years. All they serve is beer and Sangria, and you have to walk through the kitchen to use the bathroom….but…..the walls are beautifully decorated! Just look at this giant peacock mural!

I hate taking pictures at night because of the flash. When I uploaded my photos I noticed that my eyes were closed in every single one!

I bought this dress at my favorite thrift store (the one I visit 3 times a week!). It is probably one of my favorite pieces because it reminds me so much of Audrey Hepburn.

In about an hour I am going to meet up with my friend Leasa who is making the movie. We have to set up a day to film the last two little scenes that we didn’t have time for last week. We better do it quick though, my hair is growing incredibly fast, and no longer looks like it did when we shot the other scenes! You can’t really tell in this photo how long it is getting, because it is tucked behind my ears, but I really don’t want to have to go for a trim!

As if I hadn’t bought enough clothes over the past week, this morning I felt the desire to hit up a few thrift stores. I found this skirt, and just loved the cut of it. I have so many skirts in my closet, I really need to start wearing them more often! I think my problem is that I don’t have all that many tops that I actually like. Note to self….start looking at tops in the thrift store!

I bought this dress and purse yesterday at a Goodwill store. I saw the dress, and didn’t even bother trying it on, which I hardly ever do. I just knew right away that it was going to be perfect…. I had almost given up hope on the thrift stores in the Bay Area!

What a great time I have been having up here in San Francisco! Yesterday I spent the whole day with my friend Sharise. We went and had tapas and sangria for lunch, then did lots, and lots, and lots of shopping on Haight st. I spent far too much money (by my standards), but did find some really amazing things. I bought this coat yesterday at Buffalo Exchange, and I refuse to take it off.  I am so in love with it, but slightly bummed that I won’t get any use out of it in San Diego for quite some time!

Tomorrow I head back to San Diego, but not until my mum and I spend the day in the city…and eat dim sum!  I am looking forward to sleeping in my own bed again, and am anxious to start writing my Bay Area thrift shop guide!

Last night was so nice and relaxing.  I was finally able to get ten and a half hours of much needed sleep.  Now mum and I are listening to some old Mambo music and getting ready to go hit up some thrift stores.  Hopefully I will have a bit better luck today than I did yesterday!
