Happy Wednesday dolls!  I hope everyone is making it through the week without suffering too much from the heat.  I have lots of wishes running around in my head right now, but this is my number one:

I wish I were backpacking through the Mediterranean countries.  I fly into Athens, and catch the Eurorail and travel extensively throughout Greece, Italy, Spain, and finally make my way into Northern Africa. I stop in many small cities, getting to meet the locals, and embrace their cuisine and their customs.  I have all the time in the world, and naturally an unlimited supply of income.  I spend my days wandering through worn down cities and towns, making new friends, drinking local wine, and tasting all the food that comes my way.  My nights are spent dancing until 2 AM.  I take photos, and blog about my adventures all along the way.

I wish that I were in the LAX airport.  I am sitting patiently, reading, and every minute or so glancing around to see all the faces that I will share this flight with.  It is going to be a long flight.  24 hours including the layover in Frankfurt, Germany.  I look calm on the outside, but my heart is racing a mile a minute.  I can barely read my book with all the thoughts of the adventure that awaits me flying through my head.  There are women with saris, businessmen, and loads of small children.  It is going to be a noisy flight.  A voice finally comes over the loudspeaker announcing that it is time to start boarding.  I stand from my seat, take one big breath in as I say goodbye to my country and begin boarding the plane.

Happy Wednesday darlings! I can’t believe that we are already half way through the week. Time has just been flying by for me, and I really think it ought to stop, so I can have more time to enjoy it!

Well it is time for us to make our wishes! My wish last week came true right away, this one probably won’t–at least not today!

I wish that I were wandering row upon row of a strawberry field. I would stop and pick only the finest ripe red strawberries. I stop and eat a few along the way, but save most for the strawberry pie that I plan on making when I get home. I take my time, and enjoy the smell of the fresh berries, but look forward to gobbling up my pie with lots and lots of ice cream!

I wish I could spend the entire day in the front yard with my paints and canvas. In the afternoon a friend would come over and join me. We would paint and talk about devising our own get rich quick scheme, and possibly make some bloody marys. We would paint all day until my husband got home from work, when I would take a small break to cook dinner.

Oh wait, that wish is coming true today! I doubt though I will carry a purse or have shoes on though, so the outfits not 100% realistic!

A very happy Wednesday to all of you! I hope you have all been saving up some lovely daydreams and wishes to share with us this week! I certainly have….I think that my wish this week stemmed from the three dozen cupcakes I made over the weekend!

I wish I owned a small bakery on the outskirts of town. I would wake up at the crack of dawn, and go in and start preparing the pastries for the day.  I would make pies, tarts, cakes, cookies, cinnamon rolls, éclairs, and whatever else your heart can think of.  Naturally I would be the best baker in town, and people would not only come into my shop for the sweets, but for the lovely decor.  Light pink walls, with old fashioned white metal parlor chairs throughout.  Everyone in town has become my friend through the bakery, and they love telling me stories of how their mamas taught them to roll dough, or how grandma showed them to make a pie crust.  At the end of the day I take a dessert home with me to enjoy after my long day, excited to return tomorrow to my little bakery.

I wish that instead of running errand I was sitting on the beach with a huge Pina Colada in hand and the freshest pineapple spilling over the side.  I would spend hours browsing fashion magazines and make sure to lather up well with SPF 45. In the evening I would watch the sun go down, and mosey along the edge of the water slightly drunk from all the pina coladas.

I wish I were an anthropologist studying a native tribe in Africa. I study their speech patterns, and have been living among the people for almost a year. They have really warmed up to me, and I have really started picking up their language. I am speaking to them fluently and with very few mistakes. There is a mother of three small children, who has taken a particular liking to me. She calls me ‘tall one’ and insists that I eat with them most evenings. There food consists of various small animals that the men were able to catch. Though their food did take some getting used to at first, my stomach is stronger now, and I can eat almost anything without wincing. The days are hot, and I spend most of the day inside huts, observing what the members of the tribe do and say. In the evenings I return to my own personal hut, where I review the notes I wrote that day, and work on making diagrams relating to the usage of certain words. I sleep in a hammock with a net over it to keep away pests. I have six more months before I finish my study, and plan on going back to America and publishing a book all about my studies.

My wish this week is a bit more attainable, unlike jumping in my time machine and heading to another decade! I wanted this week’s wish to be one that could actually come true, so that I have something to look forward to.

I wish that the sun was shining bright, and I had a box full of cupcakes baked. I would call up a friend, and we would head down to the museums in Balboa Park together. Since Tuesdays are free at the museums, we would see which one we could get into, then spend an hour looking at whatever the new exhibit was. After casually looking we would return to the car and get our thigns. We would spread out a picnic blanket, and get comfortable. We would eat cupcakes and paint all day until the sun went down.

I wish I could hop into my handy dandy little time machine and jet back to the 1920’s. I would spend the evening in a seedy little club, that has a hidden entry down a deep and dark alley. Everyone knows everyone in the joint. Ever since the prohibition started, it isn’t safe to let unknowns in. In my dream I am a smoker, and smoke from a long cigarette stick. I drink gin martinis ’til 4 AM and dance the Charleston with anyone who will join me.

You guys did so well with last week’s What I’m Wishing that I have been looking forward to posting this week’s since then! I am really, really loving this new section, and I hope you all are as well.

Since last weekend I have been thinking about what my wish for this week would be. I browsed Polyvore, for a while looking for some inspiration. Then I saw this dress, and was blown away completely. It is so amazingly beautiful, soft, feminine, and the color is incredible. It is a total fairy princess dress! What would a girl in this dress do?

I wish that I lived in an old fashion Dutch style home in the country. About two minutes walk from my back door is my very own secret garden. It is guarded by an eight foot wall covered in moss and ivy, and contains every kind of flower that comes to mind. A mother bird has made her nest right inside the entry way, and is sitting on her eggs. Every single day around three I go and sit in my garden, write in my journal, and drink hot tea. On this one day in particular the air is cool, but not cold, and the smell is strong of chrysanthemum. Upon entering my garden the mother bird gives a little chirp of hello. I have brought my paints, canvas, and easel, and I quickly set up shop and begin painting my surroundings. With such peaceful surroundings ideas start flowing, and I paint my best work of art yet.
