200th Post!

May 20, 2008

Well what do you know, we just made it to the 200th post! I couldn’t believe it last week when I realized I was on post #195.  How on earth did that happen so quickly?  I figured 200 would be a good time to make a community announcement, since it has been a while since the last one.

1. I have now created a Links page, which you can get to by clicking on the link in the upper right hand corner of the navigation bar. I put together a few of my favorite links for now, but I suspect it will be continuously growing, as I am always finding new sites that I fall in love with.

2. I have also (finally) created a FAQ page. Like the links page, it will probably keep growing, as I’m sure I will continue to be asked questions.  If you think there is anything missing that ought to be covered, do let me know!

3. I have a huge announcement coming on Monday.  I know you are all going to love it, and I can hardly wait to let it out!  Unfortunately you will all have to sit tight until then, when I can share the big news with you.

Thank you all so much for being so supportive, and so involved.  This blog really wouldn’t be what it is today without all of your input, comments, and support.  Keep up the good work darlings!

xoxo,
Cedar

Blingo

February 7, 2008

I know a lot of you are already a member on Blingo.com, but I just want to remind everyone how awesome the site is.

For those who have not ever used Blingo, it is a search engine, powered by Google. Each day they have times picked out to give away prizes, and if you happen to be the lucky one to search at that exact moment, you get the prize. Now if you sign up people below you, with your unique sign up address, and they win a prize, then you also get that prize. So the more people you sign up, the more chances you have to win.

This morning I won $500 cash, thanks to one of my friends. Over the past three years I have won over 25 prizes, most being movie tickets, or $5 Amazon.com gift certificates, but I also won an iPod Nano, and a $50 Visa gift certificate.

It is a great site, they don’t ask for your address until you have actually won a prize, and they don’t sell your address, or spam you with a bunch of annoying junk mail. They just like to offer prizes to the people who use their site, and really, who doesn’t want to win $500?

The Labyrinth

February 3, 2008

The movie the Labyrinth was a very defining movie in my life. It was my favorite all throughout my childhood, and it was the first time (that I knew of) that I was exposed to a man in makeup, though I later found out that Grandma’s friend Jackie was actually Jack.

I am honestly obsessed with every single bit of this movie, from the sets, to the music, to the costumes, to the puppets, to David Bowie’s package, it is all fabulous! The mid 80’s really did well with the fairy tale type fantasy movies. They just don’t make them like this anymore.

Being as in love with this movie as I was, I spent much time fantasizing being Sarah. What little girl growing up in the 80’s couldn’t relate to her, and daydream of going on a mystical adventure like she had?

Besides being a great storyline, the movie had some darn good fashion. Can’t we all use a little more Labyrinth in our lives? I dream of one day owning this outfit, because I would love nothing more than to walk down the street looking like Jareth the Goblin King!

the labyrinth style clothes

1. Top from Forever 21 2. Trousers from Top Shop 3. Crystal Ball Necklace from Alloy 4. Shoes from Zappos 5. Vest from Top Shop

The Labyrinth also kicked off my life long secret love affair with David Bowie. Shh…don’t tell my husband.
