1. Pink Elephant, 2. pink elephant, 3. Pink Elephant, 4. Product Placement: Elephant Car Wash
Hey cuties! How is everyone on this gorgeous Friday afternoon? I am so, so stoked that the weekend is here and the weather is incredible (85°!). I just got my hair cut about an hour ago- because tomorrow I am filming the very last scene for the film I had been working on! We hadn’t filmed in about a month, and my hair has grown about three quarters of an inch! I was a little sad to see the length go, but I had her cut only the back, because I am good at using my magic to make the front look shorter than it really is.
Anyway, here are some of my favorite reads for this week. Enjoy!
♥ I just last night discovered this food blog dedicated to one of the most delicious combinations known to man. Chocolate and peanut butter. I spent far too long drooling over the images on The Chocolate Peanut Butter Gallery. Check out the Chocolate Peanut Butter Brownie Sundae or the Peanut Butter Cup Brownie Bottom Cheesecake. Yum!
♥ If those dessert seem a bit too heavy for you, Earl Grey Cupcakes with Lemon Buttercream may be more up your alley. They look positively delightful!
♥ Vintage Style Files posted a really fun article called ‘How to Smell Like a Star‘. If you were ever curious to see what scents those old Hollywood stars wore, do check this out!
♥ Zen Habits posted a really interesting read; The Seven Deadly Sins of a Relationship.
♥ Design*Sponge posted a great DIY project. Tin Can Pincushions.
♥ Right now I am loving the art of Aya Kekeda. Check out the fun and whimsical pieces she has in her gallery.
♥ Marilyn from Pulp Sushi posted a great tutorial on how to make those cute little bottle cap magnets.
♥ I have been on a huge make my own salad dressing kick lately, and the post Never buy Salad Dressing Again from A Veggie Venture couldn’t have come at a better time!
Now here is one of my favorite ladies, the lovely Ella to kick of your weekend!
AND, because I know every girl wanted to be Barbie at some point…
Hope you all have a lovely weekend!
xoxo,
Cedar

So you know, your post on ‘The Moviestar’ inspired me to get Gilligan’s Island from Netflix. Caleb and I had a blast last night with the first disc. So much fun.

I’m really excited to take some time to visit Never Buy Salad Dressing again because I have talked a lot about making my own dressing lately (my boyfriend’s mom does & it is soooooooo delicious). Like many, I’m sure, I can never seem to get through a whole store-bought bottle before getting tired of it, and after awhile I find a half-dozen expired bottles shoved to the back of the fridge…

ps. have you ever watched any old Jaques Cousteau documentaries? I’ve just gotten into them recently & for some reason it just seems like something you’d like! They’re so exciting, yet relaxing at the same time!

Liina- I have the same problem. I have been making small batches, that way every salad is different, and I don’t get sick of having the same thing all the time.
I haven’t seen any of Jacques Cousteau documentaries, but I can tell you right now, that I definitely need to! It seems almost silly that I haven’t seen any!! Thanks for the recommendation!
Lidian- Isn’t it fabulous? It is up in Seattle, and when I lived up there I would see it all the time. I had forgotten about that sign until just today when I went in search of Pink Elephant photos!

When did you live in Seattle? I grew up there! Well, we always lived within an hour of the city, and I worked in the city at a theatre for a summer/fall/winter one year. I looove Seattle.
I thought that was the Pink Elephant from off the freeway. How fun.

I spent my childhood in Tukwila, and then my ‘growing up years’ (13-18) in Olalla, right between Port Orchard and Gig Harbor.
Small world.

A book that takes place in OLALLA? Bizarre.
I haven’t read it, but I’m definitely going to look it up, if only for the uniqueness.

Liina says:
It’s a historical/true crime book by Gregg Olsen:
This is from the website http://www.starvationheights.com/
“In 1911 two wealthy British heiresses came to a sanitarium near Seattle to undergo the revolutionary fasting treatment of Linda Burfield Hazzard. It was supposed to be a holiday for the two sisters. But within a month of arriving at what the locals in Olalla, Wash., called “Starvation Heights,” the women were emaciated shadows of their former selves, groaning in pain, waiting for death.”
I read a little over half of the book, and really loved/was horrified by it up to the courtroom scenes, then got bored.
