I think that quite possibly the majority of my life has been spent in one big daydream. I spend hour upon hour planning my life in the distant future, planning vacations that may not happen, planning outfits that I may never wear, and planning my Oscar acceptance speech.
Because I spend so much time in this fantasy land, I thought it might be fun to somehow incorporate it into Indulgences. I want to paint a picture of the fantasy that I wish I were living at that moment; what I wish I were wearing, where I wish I was, what I wish I was drinking, who I wish I was with, and whatever else comes to mind.
In the same respect, I want all you other daydreamers to do the same. Share your fantasy vacation with me, tell me about how you wish you were playing mini golf with your crush, or how you wish you were skiing in the French Alps and sipping hot chocolate in a lodge.
I want this to be a short escape from reality, not just for me, but for you as well. So please share you daydreams with myself, and everyone else on Indulgences…. and if you are lucky enough to be living your daydream, share that too!!
So, what am I wishing right now?
I wish I was wearing the above outfit, strolling the beach at Coney Island on a hot summer evening in August. In my hand is a huuuuge puff of pink, fluffy cotton candy, and little buzzing gnats are flying around my face. As I walk along the beach the sun starts to set. I wander over to the boardwalk and walk along, stopping to watch a handsome blonde teenager win a stuffed pink elephant for his girlfriend. As day moves into night I get in line to ride the ferris wheel. I claim my seat and stay put. I ride the ferris wheel around and around and around, refusing to get off. The operators continue operating the ride long after the other tourists have left, and I sit in my seat feeling the cooling air against my face. I continue to ride until the cold air makes my face feel numb. I finally vacate the ride, and catch a cab to the hotel were I am staying. I take a hot bath, then slip into bed where I sleep until noon the next day…..
That is what I wish I were doing at this exact moment.

Oh, I do this all the time too! Like every day.
Because heaven knows I am a big ole geek, I would love to be on a Grand Tour of various plaes I want to do genealogy research - Brooklyn Public Library, LDS place in Salt Lake, oh and then jet off to London, England. And be staying at groovy but very comfortable charming old hotels. Long walks in the late afternoon/evening with my dear partner (whose company I miss, we are so busy in real life). Cafes, nice meals I didn’t make. A little vintage candy (cuz it has got no calories in this world!).
And I find out all sorts of stuff for my blogs and my mystery novel. Cool unusual stuff that no one else has found…And I am wearing perfect clothes, you know the kind: comfortable, absolutely ME, and wildly flattering.
(Where the hell can I find those clothes anyway? I promise to stay off the candy if I do)

This is so much fun, I just spent way too much time on it! Mine is pretty simple & likely to come true in the near future! I’ve been dreaming of going to this Bavarian tourist town in the North Cascades of Washington State, Leavenworth (it’s only a few hours from where I live). My man & will do a day hike out on the trails nearby, followed by a visit to our favorite bratwurst restaurant, where we will get brats & expensive German beer, and then stay the night at a corny Chalet style lodge! (& watch cable tv haha)

The thing I dream about most is playing with my children on some playground when they’re between the ages of 3 and 7. I definitely want to be a classy looking mom, but I definitely know I’ll need the tennis shoes.

This is my dream mostly because I’m not sure when I’ll be able to experience it. My husband and I are currently going through infertility testing. I’ve wanted to be a mom as long as I can remember, so the past while of dealing with this is hard at times.

I daydream constantly. I have so many fantasy vacations, but right now after reading this, I wish I were the girlfriend of the “handsome blonde teenager” in your daydream.
