The movie the Labyrinth was a very defining movie in my life. It was my favorite all throughout my childhood, and it was the first time (that I knew of) that I was exposed to a man in makeup, though I later found out that Grandma’s friend Jackie was actually Jack.
I am honestly obsessed with every single bit of this movie, from the sets, to the music, to the costumes, to the puppets, to David Bowie’s package, it is all fabulous! The mid 80’s really did well with the fairy tale type fantasy movies. They just don’t make them like this anymore.
Being as in love with this movie as I was, I spent much time fantasizing being Sarah. What little girl growing up in the 80’s couldn’t relate to her, and daydream of going on a mystical adventure like she had?
Besides being a great storyline, the movie had some darn good fashion. Can’t we all use a little more Labyrinth in our lives? I dream of one day owning this outfit, because I would love nothing more than to walk down the street looking like Jareth the Goblin King!

The Labyrinth also kicked off my life long secret love affair with David Bowie. Shh…don’t tell my husband.

What memories! I remember watching that movie throughout grade school. David Bowie is awesome. I really liked him in The Prestige.
