Tuesday Tips for Feeling Fabulous

January 22, 2008

gumby and friends

Make a collage. Cut out all your favorite images from some magazines and paste them on some poster board, a newspaper rack, or a wooden jewelry box. Add glitter, confetti and puffy paints to further personalize.

Make a grown up root beer float with vanilla ice cream and root beer flavored schnapps.

Go to the drug store, and buy a shade of lipstick you have always liked, but were afraid to try. Look for the $2 Wet and Wild so that you aren’t wasting too much money in case it looks terrible!

Go shopping without any money (or credit cards!). Make a list of things you like, and buy them from eBay instead!

Rent your favorite childhood TV show on DVD from your local rental place. Pop some popcorn, and let the memories come pouring in. Unfortunately for me, my all time favorite kid show (Lady Lovely Locks) is not available on DVD. I will have to rent my other favorite show, Gumby!

Now what about you? What are you doing this week for yourself to feel fabulous?? And….I am dying to know, what was your favorite childhood TV show?

Oh wow. I don’t know anyone who knows lady lovely locks.
My mum has every episode on video from when we were kids so when I’m sad I go to her house and watch them and eat cauliflower with cheese sauce.

Ooh ooh… I know I shouldn’t say this because my dad works at Rite Aid and they actually LOSE money from this program, but Rite Aid has a program where if you buy makeup and take it home and try it and don’t like it you can bring it back for a refund. Thought I’d mention it from your Wet N Wild suggestion, but of course you’d want to ask your Rite Aid clerk before you actually purchase it if that program was still valid… :X

I loved Mr. Rogers Neighborhood when I was little. :D Somehow I jumped from that to Power Rangers to Saved by the Bell as I “grew up,” then went back to Pokemon when that first broke out.

I love making collages! :D I got rid of so many of my magazine subscriptions, but I work at a library and we sell donated magazines for 25 cents each, so that’s a good place to look if you have nothing to cut up for a collage.
