When I saw Grey Gardens for the first time I absolutely fell in love with Little Edie. I am always drawn to such slightly off and quirky characters. I loved her head wraps, the fur coats (I only wear faux for the record), and her carefree way of life, as broken as it was.
These days Grey Gardens seems to be all the rage, and the new direction of fashion. With a “remake” of the documentary in the works, a musical, and numerous fashion designers taking inspiration from the film, everyone has Grey Gardens fever! They are calling it “the Broken Socialite” look, which describes the look perfectly in my opinion.
Mary Kate Olsen did a photo shoot for Harper’s Bazaar last year inspired by Grey Gardens. Check out the beautiful colors. Her hair color is to die for in these pictures.
